Questions Answered
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Your local utility company continues to deliver your energy using the same infrastructure, regardless of which supplier you choose. Service reliability, safety standards, and emergency response remain exactly the same.
Not necessarily. Rates vary based on market conditions, contract terms, and the specific offers available. It's important to compare rates carefully and consider both the price and the additional benefits offered, such as renewable energy options and rewards programs.
When you choose a renewable energy plan, your supplier purchases renewable energy certificates (RECs) equivalent to your usage. This supports renewable energy development and adds clean energy to the grid. While the actual electrons flowing to your home come through the general grid mix, your choice directly supports the construction and operation of renewable energy facilities.
This depends on your current contract. If you're on a month-to-month plan or your contract has expired, you can typically switch without penalty. However, if you're in a fixed-term contract, there may be early termination fees. Always review your contract terms before switching.
If your supplier stops serving customers for any reason, you'll automatically be returned to your utility's default service at standard rates. Your energy service will not be interrupted, and you'll receive notification about the change and your options for choosing a new supplier.
